Product Details
One (1) spot in Botany's two-day intensive. Presented by Head Designer and Owner Rachelle and Floral Designer Sarah. This two-day intensive is for the lovers of botany, flowers, and design. Introducing two culturally specific floral workshops; styles of floral design that each designer holds dear to their heart. A designer will demonstrate and help guide you, offering insight and knowledge in different floristry skills. Spots are limited. These sessions are held in a small, creative and supportive floral studio.
Japanese Floral Design - On Day One, we'll be exploring Japanese floral design, through history, artistry, and a chance to arrange your very own Ikebana-inspired floral arrangement. This course includes fresh florals, greenery, a pottery vessel, a Kenzan (flower frog), light snack and drink, studio photos of your design, and downloadable Ikebana booklet, and finally how to wrap and care for your Ikebana-inspired arrangement before heading home with your creation. Taught by Sarah.

About Sarah Growing up in Northern Ontario, she developed a love of gardening (veggies mostly!), but was always drawn to the flowers. Helping her Mom and Grandmother, she was a quick study. Her early twenties were spent gaining experience in the floral industry, working on a flower farm, freelancing for florists, and dabbling in designing with foraged wild flowers. Her design style reflects her rural upbringing mixed with her love of bold colours, textured foliage, and her travels to Japan. Outside of floral design, Sarah spends her time with her family, trying new coffee beans, cooking, and scribbling with pastels. She can't wait to create art with you! Her Favourite Band: The Beaches
French Garden-Style Experience - On Day Two, we'll be emerged in the French Garden-style experience. Together with your peers, you will collaborate on creating a French-inspired tablecaspe complete with fruit, candles, and of course florals! The course includes your own designed arrangement, light snack and drink, studio photos of the tablescape, small take-home lavender posy, as well as floral care tips and packaging for you to transport your French-inspired arrangement home. Taught by Rachelle.

About Rachelle Growing up in the prairies, her French-Canadian ancestry has influenced her garden, cooking, and natural bespoke floral style. Rachelle's love of nostalgia shines through in her designs. Dreamy, heirloom, secret garden, barefoot morning foraging is where you will find her. Her vast knowledge began in rural Saskatchewan, with an artist background, and a love of mixed media arts. Although her post-secondary studies are in environmental design, her love of botany has always remained. She opened her studio in 2011, celebrating 15 years and has flourished alongside the bustling artisanal shops along College Street. When Rachelle is not at the shop, you cannot find her. That's just the way she prefers it, a cup of coffee in hand, sitting in her urban garden oasis with her family. Rachelle has a love of poetry, gardens of all sizes, and epic walks. Total Investment for both Sessions: $600 + HST. Or register for a single session only. Priced at $275 for our Japanese Floral Design Workshop and $360 for our French Garden-Style Experience Workshop.

Duration: Each workshop runs 90 Minutes in length
